Check Daly City Recent Arrests

A Daly City arrest can surface in two places. City police hold one set of records. County custody shows up elsewhere. That split trips up plenty of first-time searchers, because a search for Daly City recent arrests crosses city and county systems: the Police Department keeps its own incident records and news products, while a person booked into county jail appears through the San Mateo County Sheriff. No single source gives a full city arrest roster. So search in layers. Here is how the pieces fit, from the crime newsletter to a booking check to an official record request.

How Daly City Arrests Move

Daly City Police Department is the local arresting agency and keeps the city's police records. The state controller counted 102,875 residents in 2021, second among the county's incorporated cities. The city sits at the county's northern edge. It runs its own Records Division, a crime newsletter, and a wanted-person page. Check each source on its own. Merging them into one supposed arrest list invites mistakes.

A person arrested by city police may then be booked into the county jail system. The Sheriff locator can confirm present custody. Maguire Correctional Facility and Maple Street Correctional Center are the two county facilities. CitizenRIMS publishes Sheriff arrests only. County detention does not turn a Daly City Police arrest into a Sheriff arrest. That gap trips people up. Silence in CitizenRIMS can still match a real city case.

Daly City Arrest Publication Channels

Daly City publishes no daily, person-level booking roster. The Police Department's Crime Newsletter is a recurring community publication with dated entries plus links to crime mapping and statistics. It does not list every arrest. Start with official sources and match each one to your question.

Crime Newsletter Is Not Arrest Roster

The difference is practical. A newsletter editor picks which events to summarize. A custody roster answers whether a named person is held right now. An arrest feed lists records within a stated window and agency scope. An omitted item proves nothing. The official Daly City Crime Newsletter displays the city's recurring public-safety publication.

Daly City Crime Newsletter page with dated community police publications

The city's Crime Newsletter page shows the publication itself. It is not a live jail screen or a complete list of arrested people. Treat it as a lead. A newsletter item can pin down an incident date. The agency and case context can come from it too, before a records request. Names, custody, and charges live in official records. Verify them with police, the Sheriff, and the Superior Court.

Find Someone Arrested in Daly City

An arrest changes status over time, so check in layers. Search with the full legal name. Allow for spelling variants. Keep the event date and the booking date separate, since booking can fall later.

  1. Review the 24 Hour Arrests page for the same-day county route and delay cautions.
  2. Use the Sheriff Inmate Locator for current custody. First and last name are required; middle name, gender, and phonetic spelling can narrow the search.
  3. Check CitizenRIMS only for a possible Sheriff-made arrest. It omits other agencies, juveniles, and sensitive crimes.
  4. Read the Crime Newsletter for a selected city account, not as proof of the full arrest history.
  5. Ask Daly City Records for the city report if local police made the arrest.
  6. Search the Superior Court's MIDX index for the case and disposition after filing.

A released person can vanish from the current locator. An arrest record or court case may still exist. A transfer can move the search to CDCR, federal custody, or another facility entirely. The San Mateo County arrest guide explains those custody states.

Wanted Status Is Not Custody

Daly City's Northern California's Most Wanted page is a separate local feature. It uses photos and tip instructions. It also warns readers not to approach anyone shown. A wanted notice is not a jail record. Nor is it proof of a recent arrest. Check whether the notice is still current, and send tips only through the official route. The official most-wanted page shows the city's safety and tip framework.

Daly City Northern California's Most Wanted information page

The city's most-wanted page appears here for orientation. It is not a gallery. It is not a live custody record. Anyone shown on an official wanted notice should never be approached.

Daly City Police Arrest Records

The Police Reports page lays out mail, in-person, and email routes through the Records Division at 333 90th Street. Requesters must use the city form and show identification. Staff decide whether a record can be released. The city publishes no booking-photo fee or turnaround promise. Ask for current terms instead of assuming them.

Identify the full name, incident date, location, and report or case number if known. State the exact item you want released. A Daly City incident report stays with city police. A county booking chronology or county-held photo belongs to Sheriff Records at 330 Bradford Street, Redwood City, CA 94063, (650) 363-4525. Request a photograph separately.

Daly City Arrest News Coverage

San Mateo Daily Journal runs recurring police reports and selected arrest stories. Patch offers regional crime coverage. Local Crime News lists California cities. Such outlets can point to a date or an agency, but they are unofficial. They may not reflect a release or a final disposition.

RecentlyBooked keeps a San Mateo County page rather than an official Daly City roster. Mugshots.zone and BustedNewspaper list no Daly City page. Arrests.org carries no current San Mateo page. Mugshots.com serves mainly as a historical county index. Don't guess at a local URL. None of them replaces the Police Department, the Sheriff, or the court.

Daly City Photo Publication Limits

Daly City publishes no booking-photo roster. The city newsletter covers safety news, not arrest photos, and the countywide arrest feed keeps its photo feature turned off. A wanted page run by the city serves a separate purpose. Never treat a wanted image as a mugshot or assume the person shown was arrested in Daly City. Want the real thing? Ask the agency that holds the booking photo and expect a release review first.

California Penal Code ยง13665 limits how law enforcement can post certain booking photos from nonviolent arrests on social media. The image generally must come off the agency account within 14 days, though exceptions apply. The statute does not force disclosure, and it is not a blanket deletion law for private websites. The county photo section explains Policy 904 and the correct request route. No booking-photo gallery exists here, and no paid removal service gets a recommendation.

Daly City Detainers and Warrants

Immigration detainers and criminal warrants follow different rules in San Mateo County. The Sheriff's official detainer page sets limits. Cooperation stays limited unless a judicial warrant or another legal requirement is in play. Its table runs through May 2026. It showed no detainers acted upon. Four entries qualified. They were judicial warrants or bookings under the county's own definitions. None of that makes an ordinary Daly City arrest an immigration matter.

Say the facts really do point to federal immigration custody. Then ICE's locator is the right tool. It searches a different system entirely. It cannot stand in for Daly City Police records or the Sheriff's locator. And a no-result in one database proves nothing about the rest. Each custody system answers only for itself.
