Locate Redwood City Recent Arrests

Redwood City keeps its arrest records in more than one drawer. The police department logs city incidents. The Sheriff runs the county jails and posts separate custody tools. Courts hold what happens after booking. Each office answers a different question. Anyone searching who was arrested in Redwood City faces one key question. Which agency touched the case? Redwood City recent arrests make sense with a simple rule. Keep the quarterly dashboard, the live roster, and the jail address separate.

How Redwood City Arrests Work

Redwood City is the San Mateo County seat. The State Controller counted 82,344 residents in 2021. That placed it third among the county's incorporated cities in the project map. The Redwood City Police Department makes and records city arrests. Other agencies can also act inside city limits. Sheriff headquarters and both county jails sit nearby. That geography alone never turns a local police event into a Sheriff case.

Maguire Correctional Facility sits at 300 Bradford Street. Maple Street Correctional Center sits at 1300 Maple Street. Someone arrested by RCPD may land in either facility, depending on classification and custody needs. From there, the Sheriff locator answers who is in custody right now. CitizenRIMS answers a narrower question. Its arrest page lists Sheriff arrests only, so agency, custody, and geography must stay separate.

Where Redwood City Arrests Appear

RCPD publishes no person-level daily arrest log. The city's Public Safety Dashboard instead gives aggregate, quarterly context. Current county custody shows up through the Sheriff locator. Qualifying Sheriff arrests appear in the rolling CitizenRIMS route. For city reports, RCPD Records is the office to ask.

Dashboard Counts Versus Arrest Records

The city dashboard and the county arrest route are complements, not rivals. Redwood City's dashboard shows trends. Filters and quarterly activity data drive the picture, not daily names. It never lists everyone arrested that day. CitizenRIMS runs the other way, with person-level records in a rolling window. Sheriff arrests appear there only when publication rules allow.

The dashboard page stays the source of record for its quarterly model. Counts can diverge. A city number may climb while CitizenRIMS shows no matching person, because the two tools cover different agencies and periods. County custody can also reflect someone arrested by another agency entirely. Write down the agency and the event date first.

Find a Redwood City Booking

Trace the record from event to custody to court. Start with an exact name. Try the locator's phonetic option when spelling is shaky. A booking date can differ from the incident date, so check both.

  1. Use the 24 Hour Arrests guide for same-day county checks and posting limits.
  2. Search the Sheriff locator for current placement at Maguire or Maple Street.
  3. Check CitizenRIMS only for its stated Sheriff-arrest scope. It excludes other agencies, juveniles, and sensitive crimes.
  4. Use the RCPD Records Unit for a city incident report or citation record.
  5. Consult the Arrest Log page when the date spans several days.
  6. Search MIDX or Odyssey for a later criminal case and disposition.

A blank result does not mean no arrest happened. Release, transfer, a name variation, or a lawful withholding can each hide a record. So can an arrest outside CitizenRIMS scope. The county-wide recent-arrests hub lays out the full fallback chain.

Redwood City Police Arrest Records

The RCPD Records Unit keeps crime reports, warrants, citations, and registrant records. Its public instructions limit copies to authorized parties. A releasable report costs $30 for the first eight pages. Each added page costs $1. Cash or check pays the fee. Some juvenile and sex-related records stay closed. Those closure rules govern city reports, not the Sheriff's own booking records.

Requests should give the full name, incident date, location, and report number if known. Include the exact item. Ask RCPD for a city report. Need a county booking chronology or a county-held photo? Contact Sheriff Records at 330 Bradford Street, Redwood City, CA 94063, (650) 363-4525. The city's local record check is not a county custody search.

County Jail Is Not RCPD

Redwood City's geography invites one easy mistake. Both county jails and Sheriff headquarters carry Redwood City addresses. City police and county Sheriff remain separate agencies. A local incident report stays with RCPD. Booking and present custody at the jail belong to the Sheriff, while the criminal case moves to Superior Court.

The Sheriff Corrections Division page identifies Maguire and Maple Street and explains their county custody role. That detail does not name the arresting agency.

Redwood City Arrest News

The Almanac's Public Safety section covers the mid-Peninsula and has reported Redwood City and Sheriff incidents. Patch Redwood City-Woodside runs selected police and fire stories. San Mateo Daily Journal carries recurring police reports. Local Crime News holds city and agency records. All are secondary, story-driven sources that may skip a release, an amended charge, or a final disposition.

A city news channel is not an arrest roster. It is not a custody source. Nor is it a booking-photo gallery. RecentlyBooked is the one outlet here that has a county page. Mugshots.com serves here mostly as a historical county index. Arrests.org lists no current landing page for the county at all. Mugshots.zone and BustedNewspaper offer no usable San Mateo section. Verify any third-party match with the agency and court. Do not treat an article image as an official booking photograph.

Redwood City Arrest Photo Rules

Photos are scarce in Redwood City arrest systems. The city's CitizenRIMS portal keeps booking photos turned off. The Sheriff's inmate locator shows no image either. A picture attached to a news story could be a scene shot, a file photo, or an agency handout. It may not be a booking photo taken at intake. Asking for a city-held image sends the request through RCPD review. A county-held image runs through Sheriff Policy 904 instead.

California Penal Code ยง13665 restricts which booking photographs an agency may post. It applies to social media after certain nonviolent arrests. It generally forces removal from that agency account within 14 days, subject to exceptions. The statute does not create public access. It is also not a blanket takedown rule for private sites. For the wider picture, see the county photo access section. No gallery is hosted here. Nothing is rehosted as a person listing, and no paid removal link is offered.

Arrest Records and Judicial Warrants

Warrants sit near the edge of most Redwood City arrest searches. The county's immigration-detainers page is blunt. Cooperation stays limited without a judicial warrant or some other legal mandate. Its published data runs through May 2026. It lists no detainers acted upon. It shows four judicial warrants or bookings under the county's definitions. A judicial warrant bears a state or federal judge's signature, never an immigration judge's.

None of this proves a given booking has an immigration link. Federal and local systems answer different questions. Start with the county locator for ordinary jail custody. Federal locators make sense only when the known facts support that route.
